Quick One - What Paris Showed Me
For the past three days, I've explored Paris. What the "City of Light" made me realize is that we don't build like we used to before: there's beauty behind every corner.
A certain flair follows you wherever you go. Yet in our modern times, spending extra resources on making something beautiful seems like a waste. However, the opposite is the case: seeing beauty does something to the psyche. Something very positive. Our ancestors knew, but we have somehow partially forgotten.
I'm sure we can bring it back. People deserve to live in a beautiful environment. The need for beauty is as innately human as is telling stories.
Goethe said "architecture is frozen music" – we need some more musicians pouring notes into stone. If Paris taught me anything, then that going the extra mile for aesthetics is worth it. The French know it, and we must follow suit.
