Stargazing

Stargazing

I walk down a road. Night has come – and complete darkness engulfs me.

But then I look up. Even now, I struggle to put into words the beauty that I see. It's as if all of creation lies before my eyes. Millions upon millions of lights. The cosmos stretches out before me, but my vision blurs. My eyes well up slightly, making the stars look hazy. In the face of all this beauty that the universe itself presents, I feel a sense of utter insignificance. I don't just see stars. Whole galaxies dance before me, tracing their paths through the darkness of space. The silence of night and its magic soothes me – and the billions of lights in the sky let my imagination run wild.

We were born too late to explore the Earth and too early to explore the stars (though I haven’t given up hope completely). Yet we were born at the perfect time to enjoy life and all of its wonders.

If you feel small and insignificant, remember: a star died so you may live – and what's even more beautiful is that you can shine so much brighter if you simply bring your true self into the world.
